Yankee Candle’s Forstmann Resigns from Board

The Yankee Candle Company, Inc., South Deerfield, MA, announced the resignation of Theodore J. Forstmann from the board of directors. Mr. Forstmann is the founding general partner of Forstmann Little & Co. and has served as a director of the Company since 1999. Mr. Forstmann’s resignation follows the sale by Forstmann Little & Co. in September 2003 of its remaining equity interest in Yankee Candle.

With Mr. Forstmann’s resignation brings the number of the company’s board members to nine. Executives said the company expects to add at least one additional independent director to the board in the ordinary course.
